Albania flagThe National Parks in Albania are run by National Agency of Protected Areas (AKZM Home) . There are 15 National Parks and along with 2 Strict Nature Reserves, 7 Natural Monuments, 7 Managed areas/Natural Parks and 5 Protected Landscapes. Below you will find details of the National Parks in Albania.

From Alps and glacial lakes to roman ruins and hot springs, Albania has quite a diverse set of Habitats to explore. The AKZM was only recently formed in February 2015 and in line with EU directives are already managing their habitats for the benefit of preservation and our futures. Albania has had National Parks since 1966 and this renewed focus on the preserving nature through AKZM is encouraging. Together with Parks Dinarides, a union of National Parks between Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia will form the Dinaric Arc Parks project to preserve valuable eco-systems and form a joined approach to National Parks.
