Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park in Albania

Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park (or Parku Kombëtar Shebenik-Jabllanicë), is one of Albanians Newest National Parks being formed in 2008. It lies 23km from Librazhd in Albanian and is borders Macedonia on the Eastern side. A forest National Park, Shebenik-Jabllanicë has pine, white fur and birch trees, as well as subalpine meadows.
The area is considered to be of ecological importance, according to the IUCN, not only for its wetlands and glacial lakes, but to act as a bio-corridor to larger mammals passing through the park.
Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park has a height of over 2200m at Peak Shebenik Mountain and if you are hiking will afford you will surrounding views that are natural landscape. Look out for the Balkan Lynx, although very shy and endangered, you may just catch a glimpse and if you are really fortunate, take a photo. Share it with us so we can see what the area looks like.
