Mountain Zebra National Park in South Africa

Set up in 1937, Mountain Zebra National Park has undergone many changes. It began with just 1712 ha of land to protect the near extinct Mountain Zebra and has grown to just over 28 000ha today. There are restcamps and camping sites to take advantage of, as well as maintained roads within the park, suitable for sedans. There are tracks for 4×4 enthusiasts too!
There is also a strong cultural connection to Mountain Zebra National Park too. There are remnants from the Anglo-Boer war too. A chess board located at the top of a Saltpeterskop left behind by British troops. There are also San Cave Paintings which can be visited with a guide.
The strongest feature by far in Mountain Zebra National Park is that it is spread over three biomes from the hot Karoo through grassland down to shrubland, all of which have their own wildlife to find. There are plans to expand this Park and those details can be found in this document here.
