Valbona Valley National Park in Albania

Valbona Valley National Park is not far from the town of Bajram Curri in a remote mountainous region of Albania. Valbona Valley National Park is part of a transboundary National Park with Montenegro, and is of highly significant biodiversity value to these countries. The Balkan Peace Park is an imitative to bring people together from Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo.
The area is still very traditional and along with beautiful scenery the local “heart” will be a great draw to this area for many people. It’s proximity with the other national parks across the border and with Theth National Park makes this an ideal place to visit that is off the beaten track!
Valbona National Park is also home to the highest mountain in Albania, Mount Jezerca at 2694m tall, so hiking and climbing are a definite here. There is also the Brown Bear and wolf, who call this home, along with a variety of bird and smaller mammals too.
