Augrabies Falls National Park in South Africa
Videos | Gallery | Unexplored | Stories
What will strike you about Augrabies Falls National Park first is the semi-desert like conditions you will drive through to get to the falls. Once you are there, walk down to the viewing platform and look over at the 56m high Orange River falls and have your breath taken away! (Even more so if its the the height of Summer and the temperature is a toasty 45°C!)
The water thunders here, and in full flood, is a sight and feeling you will not forget as the water tumbles over the rocks right below your feet. As always though, you don’t just come to a national park for one view, only to leave having ticked that off. There are numerous mammals and plants to see here, but only if you are slow! Night time brings out all the shy creature of this dry land and the Quiver Tree (Kokerboom) makes for the perfect silhouetted sunsets of red and gold.
The diversity in Augrabies Falls National Park is truly staggering and watching the videos below will have you amazed at this environment. If you go, send me some photos. Its a special place!
