Namaqua National Park in South Africa

So you were looking for the World’s most amazing Spring flowering displays, in a biome that is arid? Then you are going to have to visit this National Park, Namaqua National Park. Each year, this park puts on the most amazing flower show, no human could match it. Add to that the peaceful surroundings, unspoilt coastline and scenery carved from the ground itself and you have for yourself a magical place.
Now don’t be fooled, there are times when you would think nothing could thrive here. It’s very dry and there are no flowers, but you would be happily mistaken when you see the display. Namaqua National Park is also home to a number of smaller mammals, such as the Cape Rock Elephant-shrew and Porcupine. There are plenty of birds to look out for too, like the black-headed Canary.
Much of the larger animals are no longer here, with the Leopard being the largest now, but the area is still filled with much to see. Beware that some road need a 4×4 as the sand gets pretty deep in places. So be prepared! The coast line is pristine, and the cold Atlantic brushes up against its shores. You can see mist rolling in through winter which it is though begins the germination process for the flower display. Lets not forget the snow too, which can fall on the Kamiesberg. Namaqua National Park is a place of extremes!
