Yorkshire Dales National Park has lots to offer. Caving, cycling, walking and nature watching to name but a few. At night, look up to see the stars that twinkle away at us from light years away, unhindered by the city lights. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is also proud of the “Miles without Stiles” program that allows people with limited mobility get out and about too.
If you are driving around and sightseeing there are Castles and the Settle and Carlisle Railway which crosses the very famous Ribblehead Viaduct. The landscape here is very open and offers great views of the area, but the interesting part of the Yorkshire Dales are the stone walls which criss cross this country side.
If you are looking for things to do in Yorkshire, have a look at the Yorkshire Events Page, and more specifically at the “What’s On” in the Yorkshire Dales National Park page.
The one thing you may hear about the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the Three Peaks Challenge which people try to achieve every year. Trying to conquer Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside are no easy feat but if you like you climbs then this is the place to go and get your walking shoes tested out. Want to find out more about the challenge then visit the The Three Peaks Challenge website for further information.
**On the 1 August 2016, the Yorkshire Dales National Park was extended by 41 699 ha in line with latest recommendations for preserving our Natural Landscapes.
