Dartmoor National Park in South West England is a large open moorland with views that extend in all directions. With dramatic, breath-taking granite outcrops and tors left from millions of years of erosion.
Humans have existed in the Dartmoor National Park since the Bronze age and they have left their mark in the form of hut circles and burial sites. The longest stone row in the world is found on Dartmoor!
One animal you are bound to see are the Dartmoor ponies. The Dartmoor ponies ensure vegetation is managed so domestic animals have fresh grazing plants to eat. Dartmoor National Park is a well managed National Park, where people, wildlife and the land interact in a way which is sustainable, and offers opportunities for practical projects and opportunities for people to get involved.
