Oberoesterreich-Kalkalpen National Park in Austria, is made up of two mountain ranges, the Reichraminger Hintergebirge and the Sengsengebirge. The Hoher Nock rises to height of 1 963m into the sky and offer superb views below. It is also the largest forested reserve in Austria.
Oberoesterreich-Kalkalpen National Park has great opportunities at looking for wildlife. Recently the WWF were part of the release of the Lynx back into the woods and there are sightings of the Golden Eagle, White-Backed Woodpeckers and Apollo Butterflies too.
The area has a vast cave system and activities based around the river Enns, so you will not be bored for adventure in this Oberoesterreich-Kalkalpen National Park as there is something for everyone to do. Over 500km of cycle paths and mountain bike trails should be enough to keep the most enthusiastic busy while the rest can take leisurely hikes or small picnics here.
Kalkalpen National Park is a Protected RAMSAR site with an interest in the woodland and limestone alps leading to nearly 800 springs.
