Sorteny Valley Nature Park in Andorra holds much to see. Many people come to Andorra for the skiing, but there is much more to see, and in summer the meadows will come to life with flowers and medicinal cures that the local people harvest and use in traditional medicine.
There is no public transport to this National Park, so if you are walking from El Serrat you have a bit of a journey on your hands. However, you will be treated to a show of landscape and scenery served by the Pyrenees for your delight. There are walking routes given by the Sorteny website too. Plenty of places to stay and if you like your winter breaks, there is much to do in the area from snow shoes to Mushing!
The Sorteny River is the main river in the Sorteny Valley and it rises to a very respective 2 680m – the highest river source in Andorra! Copper and Iron were mined here in the 17th and 18th century and along with the traditional architecture and traditions you will certainly find this a welcoming and interesting natural place. If you enjoy your 4×4 adventures there are also plenty of opportunities to engage the diff lock and go for a spin.
Ramsar has also noted this National Park as a park of interest due to the rare species of flora and fauna.
