Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System

As the first featured product of the month, the Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System is the one item that always gets packed on a trip. This little cooker has made me a coffee in a break, soup and noodles for dinner and a lovely pot for porridge when there has been a quick camping trip planned. It weighs around 425 grams (or 15 oz) and the little gas canister you can purchase fits inside the Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System so it all compacts to the size of 10.5cm by 18cm (4.1″ x 7.1″) and has an overall weight of just 525 grams (18.5 oz) with the gas canister.

Jetboil Featured - April 2016, National Parks GuyThe beauty of this little cooker is the speed at which it cooks at, reducing your time waiting for that all important cup of coffee and not wasting excessive gas as the genius of the design is to maximise the heat burn. For half a litre of water it takes just two minutes to boil! Now that is quick!

Add ons

There are of course various additional attachments you can purchase with for the Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System, like the Jetboil Fuel Can Stabilizer (which I recommend), a Jetboil FluxRing Fry Pan, and a 1.5 liter FluxRing Cooking Pot. The 100g Fuel can is an Isobutane/Propane Mix and last for about 100 cups of boiled water. It has a screw thread on which you can screw your gas cooker and unscrew when finished with a very good seal till the next time you need it. Jetboil Jetpower Fuel

Easy Igniter

Another ingenious idea with the Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System is the handy push-button igniter, so when your hands are cold you can still get the flame lit without fumbling about for matches or a lighter. This version also comes with a colour indicator in the neoprene cover, which keep the contents warm while you sit and enjoy the view.

The reason for recommending this over something like a Leagy (TM) Split Type Camping stove is that you have all you need in a handy organised manner. Something to cook in, gas safe and secure, the fast Jetboil fins at the bottom and the handy neoprene feel while you have your coffee or dinner. All easy to wash and pack away.

Drawbacks

The only issue I found with the Jetboil Flash Personal Cooking System is there is a little bit of a taste the first few times you use it but it soon goes and you will be so please you invested in a great product.

The initial outlay may also seem a little steep to begin with but after you have used it out on your walk you’ll soon realise that it was a great idea, when you sit to have a cuppa over looking that beautiful scenery.
